I gained my Physiotherapy Qualification in Edinburgh, Scotland and then moved to London where I gained experience in large teaching Hospitals in all areas of Physiotherapy.

In 1983 I returned to study and gained a Bachelor of Education (London) and a Diploma in Teaching Physiotherapy.

With these qualifications I then took up the position of Senior Lecturer at the University of South Australia in the field of Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapy.  During this time I was responsible for the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes as well as leading a tutoring team in academic and clinical student teaching.

My career spans 30 years in Physiotherapy including all areas of physiotherapy, management, development and administrative positions; academic, teaching and examiner roles.

In 1990 I began our Private Practice specialising in Respiratory and Cardiac areas.  I developed and implemented the first 2 Private Cardiac Rehabilitation Programmes in Adelaide and then set up the first Private Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme and clinic in South Australia.

As our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme evolved, I became aware that a very high percentage of our clients also had developed fragile bones (osteoporosis) as a result of long term medication for their lung problems.

As a result of this I developed our Better Bones Programme for the management of Osteoporosis.

In the course of my life, I have experienced a number of musculo-skeletal injuries and problems.  I believe this has made me a better practitioner with an insight into effects of long-term pain and illness on health and wellbeing as well as the importance of physical therapy in ensuring recovery and ongoing well-being.

My management of clients is based on the way I would like to be treated – with respect, compassion, skill and expertise.

Because of my education background the sharing of my knowledge for client self-management is a strong focus.

I see clients for one-on-one assessment and treatment of respiratory, osteoporosis and general rehabilitation.

I also conduct several small group sessions a week in our gymnasium.
